Project Zhenis volunteers help veterans during quarantine

Special attention is paid to those people who live alone or need assistance in connection with their health and social situation.

Volunteers of the social and charitable project Zhenis helped 640 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers from 35 cities of Kazakhstan. In total, by the end of the year it is planned to provide social and domestic help to more than 1500 participants of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers all over the country.

During the quarantine period, volunteers deliver essential foodstuffs. Special attention is paid to those people who live alone or need assistance in connection with their health and social situation. All safety precautions dictated by the quarantine conditions are observed: contactless delivery, distance, medical masks and gloves.

The project is implemented by the Social Projects Development Fund Samruk-Kazyna Trust together with the Social Projects Fund at NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC on behalf of the entire group of companies of JSC NWF Samruk-Kazyna Trust. The volunteer ranks include employees of the group of companies JSC Samruk-Kazyna Trust and active citizens of Kazakhstan.

Today 200 volunteers from among the employees of portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, including the employees of United Chemical Company LLP are involved in the project,  who in their turn invite all the citizens of the country who are not indifferent to help the veterans and workers of the rear of the Great Patriotic War to join.

Recall that the purpose of the project Zhenis is to provide systematic assistance and social support to veterans and home front workers. Volunteers help elderly people with household chores: they clean the house and the yard, buy food and medicine, talk to them. In 5 years of the project’s existence, more than 10 000 volunteer raids have been carried out on veterans and home front workers.

In 2020, the campaign to provide free railway travel to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers born no later than December 31, 1935, in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries will also continue. To issue a ticket, it is necessary to apply to the railway ticket offices and have the original document certifying the identity and identity of the participant or disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and toilers of the rear — a pension certificate with a note on the appointment of a special state benefit. It will be possible to use the campaign immediately after the quarantine regime is cancelled.
